Science 9 Zoo Trips

Grade 9 zoo trip dates have been adjusted from the beginning of the year to accommodate the Band trips.  Students will need to catch up on missed work. They are aware of this.  We are also looking for parents with valid CBE issued police clearances to assit in these trips.  2 Parents per trip.

Students need to meet at the school at 8:40 AM the day of their field trip and meet their teacher in their Science Classroom for attendance. Students will return to the school at approximately 3:20 PM and upon return to the school, they will meet in the Library/or Science Classroom to discuss the information gained on their trip.

The classes have been scheduled as follows:

Itinerary 8:45-9:15 AM –Chartered Bus Ride from MidSun School to the Calgary Zoo

9:15-9:30 AM – walk from bus to classroom at the Zoo

9:30-11:45 AM – Introductory Activities regarding Biodiversity in the Zoo Classroom

                                                  –One or more of: Skull activity/or“Animal Encounter”or Tour of the Canadian Wilds

11:45 AM – 12:30 PM – Lunch at Kitamba Café (either brought from home or purchased)

12:30 – 12:50 PM – Skull activity/or“Animal Encounter”or Tour of the Canadian Wilds

12:50 – 2:30 PM – Skull activity/or“Animal Encounter”or Tour of the Canadian Wilds

                          – Africa Savanna/Eurasia (dependent on weather)

             – Concluding Activities regarding Biodiversity

2:30 – 3:00 PM – Tour of other parts of the zoo/Bathroom break

2:45 – 3:30 PM – Chartered bus ride from the Calgary Zoo to MidSun School
